Who Are THEATS

THEATS is the nickname of Kettering and District Theatrical Society who are an amateur performing arts society based in Kettering, Northants. We stage a variety of musical theatre productions, including full “book” musicals and themed “compilation” shows, as well as lively adult pantomimes. We are also keen to broaden our programme and hope to expand into plays and cabaret performances in the near future.

THEATS We are a well-established organisation, with our first production staged in 1956. Since then we have produced nearly 90 shows and plays in theatres in and around the Kettering area. It has been our intention to present a “compilation” show in spring and a “book” show in the autumn. Our annual adult pantomime, performed around late February to early March each year, consistently attracts sell-out audiences — oh yes it does!

THEATS Welcome prospective new members at any time throughout the year. We offer two types of membership: non-acting membership (for anyone who does not wish to appear on stage, such as front-of-house volunteers — no audition required) and acting membership. Acting membership requires a brief singing audition to assess whether you can hold a tune and to identify your vocal range.
